Working in collaboration both Jonathan Purcell and Louise Adkins across the disciplines of photography, performance, printed media, and film, On Smoke parts 1 & 2 explore smoke and the act of smoking as a material trope of how we remember the past as defined through literature and cinema. The photographs and accompanying film attempt to capture the act of exhaling, a performative moment of release and reflection.
